Book a private Fishing Day, Fly fishing, Spinning and/or Trolling, accompanied by the best local guides who will take you for a Float with Wade on the Manso River, Hess Lake or Los Moscos Lake (One location of your choice). This excursion takes up to two fishermen per cata-raft, boats specifically designed for navigation on mountain rivers, which also have very good features for fishing in those lakes where motor boats are not allowed. On the Manso River, we will float approximately 12 km, fishing from the boat and also stopping to wade in the best fishing spots, inaccessible to most fishermen. In Los Lagos, we visit the best spots. At noon we will enjoy a very good lunch prepared and served on the river bank. 

Then we will continue floating and fishing during the afternoon until the departure point of the river or the lakes, where our assistants will be waiting with the vehicle(s) and trailer(s), and then change and return to their hotel or accommodation.
We provide all the necessary equipment for the activity: Waders, footwear, rods, reels, lines, flies or lures, etc.

In the morning, you will be picked up at your hotel by your expert guide and headed to the place you chose (Rio Manso, Lake Hess or Lake Los Moscos). 
The Rio Manso flows through the Andean valleys, surrounded by green forests and high mountains. The course of this river connects the lakes Mascardi, Los Moscos, La Medialuna, Hess and Steffen. The Manso offers the possibility of catching rainbow, brown and brook trout. It is located 65 km from Bariloche.
The Lake Hess is a beautiful place where only rowboat fishing is allowed. The shores are covered with vegetation allowing the nesting of aquatic birds; it is an excellent lake for fishing with large dry flies. If we are lucky, a dragonfly hatch can make the day unforgettable (large trout jump completely out of the water to catch them in the air). This lake is located 60 km from the city of Bariloche.
The Lake Los Moscos is a small lake of about 4 km in diameter; the Manso River runs through it from east to west. This lake offers the possibility of combining fishing the entire lake and about three km of the Manso River to the west, using only rowboats. We will be able to fish for brown, rainbow and brook trout here.
The three places offer a spectacular area of the National Park, with incredible landscapes and a pleasant climate.
Upon arriving at the boarding point, your guide will explain the fishing techniques that we propose for the excursion:
  • Fly fishing: This consists of casting flies – “dressed” hooks – which are imitations of insects, small fish, shrimp, etc., using a weighted line specifically designed for this purpose, using a certain precise technique. Without a doubt, this modality requires practice and dedication, just to get used to casting. However, this type of fishing is becoming more and more popular all over the world. 
  • Spinning: This fishing technique consists of casting and collecting artificial lures such as spoons, simulating the movement of a small organism in the water, which the voracious trout attacks, if we manage to fool it. Spinning is allowed in all lakes and some sections of some rivers; it can be practiced from the coast or from boats, rowing or motorboats. We recommend the use of ultra-light equipment and simple barbless hooks.
  • Trolling: Nahuel Huapi National Park has many paradisiacal lakes where you can practice this type of fishing. We drag artificial lures at a slow speed from the motorboat while enjoying spectacular landscapes.
Then, the excursion will begin, sailing on the Manso River, Hess Lake or Los Moscos Lake. and fishing with the technique chosen by you. 
After two hours of fishing from the boat, you will arrive at the edge of the river or lake to enjoy a delicious lunch in nature. After a break, you will continue floating and fishing during the afternoon in the best spots that the Manso River or the Lakes have to offer. 
Always accompanied by your guide, you will learn the history about the San Carlos de Bariloche region and the best fishing options and fish that live in the region. 
After a 12 km ride during the day, your guide will take you to the exit site of the River or the Lakes where you will be met with the cars to take you back to your hotel. 

Fishing Season
The fishing season begins every year on November 1st and ends on April 30th within the Nahuel Huapi National Park, Northern Patagonia.  However, for off-season fishing, Nahuel Huapi, Gutierrez and Mascardi lakes are open for the entire months of May and October. Lake Moreno is open for all three types of fishing all year round, so we fish there during the winter.

Age and Fishing Experience: 
Our clients include fishermen of all ages and different levels of experience, from absolute beginners to very experienced anglers.
No fishing experience is necessary to enjoy our excursions! Our guides will gladly share their local knowledge and fishing techniques with fishermen of any experience level. We tailor each excursion to the needs and preferences of our clients.
