Descripción del Tour:
From the hotel, we will set off by bus heading East, traversing the glacial valleys nestled within the forests and following National Route No. 3.
At approximately 10:15 am, we will reach the Lasifashaj River, where a technical safety briefing will be conducted. We will receive rubber boots, cover pants, life jackets, paddles, and a very stable and secure canoe. We will embark on a navigation lasting about 1 hour and 30 minutes through the Guaraní Passage of the Beagle Channel. As we paddle, we will observe Isla Grande of Tierra del Fuego, offering us unparalleled panoramic views. We'll take in the sounds of the local wildlife, witness a diverse array of birds, and, with some luck, encounter the inquisitive sea lions.
By 12:00 pm, we will make landfall to board a motorboat for a 30-minute sail around Martillo Island. This journey allows us to see Magellanic and Gentoo penguins up close.
At 12:30, we will arrive at Gable Island, where our guide will explain the island's significance in the early history of Tierra del Fuego, prior to the founding of Ushuaia. In one of the island's first colonial structures, we will relish a freshly prepared lunch, paired with a fine Patagonian red wine and a vast, tranquil view. After dessert and coffee, at around 1:45 pm, we will embark on an interpretive walk across the island through forests of lengas, coihues, ñires, and canelos, passing beaver dams and remnants of the Yámana and Anglican missionaries. By 3:00 pm, we will reach the southern coast of Gable Island, where an extraordinary panoramic view of the Beagle Channel awaits from the high vantage point of the "gables," a glacial formation.
At approximately 4:15 pm, we will commence a 45-minute sail toward the Harberton ranch. Our bus will be ready at the ranch to take us back to Ushuaia. En route, we will pause briefly at the flag tree for photographs, and by 6:00 pm, we will arrive in Ushuaia.
For those who prefer a less physically demanding experience, an extended and detailed tour of the Harberton ranch's main house is available. Following this visit, we can sail towards Gable and Martillo Islands to observe the Magellanic and Gentoo penguins.
