Descripción del Tour:
The tour kicks off with a pick-up from the hotels in the city starting at 09:00 hs. We head north to explore the Jesuit Estancias of Colonia Caroya, Jesús María, and Santa Catalina. These sites hold significant value as they were recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, having been part of the historic Old Royal Road to Upper Peru.
Colonia Caroya offers a unique blend of regional flavors, wineries, and religious circuits, making it the perfect spot to enjoy nature, savor local cuisine, and relax. This visit will focus on its historical and religious significance.
The tour's first stop is at the Tourist Interpretation and Jesuit Legacy Center in Colonia Caroya, where we'll spend about 15-20 minutes to gain insights into the territorial and historical evolution of the Society of Jesus in this region.
Next, we’ll visit the Estancia de Colonia Caroya, the first rural establishment founded by the Society of Jesus in 1616. We’ll spend approximately an hour here, exploring the museum whose exhibits reveal the Jesuit Legacy, its operations as the "First White Weapons Factory," and the significant Italian influence.
Following this, we proceed to Jesús María, a land rich in heritage, culture, and history, and one of the province's most significant cities.
During our panoramic tour, we'll pass by the site where the Argentine Dressage and Folklore Festival occurs each January; ultimately arriving at the Jesuit Jesús María Estancia, dating back to 1618. Over the course of approximately an hour and a half, we’ll explore the museum and its rooms featuring sacred Cusco art, archeology, ceramics, and more.
At noon, either in Jesús María or Colonia Caroya, you’ll have free time to enjoy lunch at a restaurant (lunch not included).
After lunch and a brief rest, we’ll continue our journey to Santa Catalina, a remarkable area renowned for its baroque-style churches, which are among the most notable in the province.
Here, you'll find the Santa Catalina Jesuit Estate, recognized as the largest architectural complex of the Society outside Córdoba city, originating from 1622. We’ll have a guided tour of about an hour, led by a local guide, to explore the park, the church, and its courtyards.
Finally, after 10 hours of exploration, we’ll return to the city and drop you off at your downtown hotel.
