The trek to “Loma del Diablo” offers a unique and untamed adventure.
Situated in a mid-mountain region, the trail to La Loma del Diablo is relatively unknown and less traveled, providing an opportunity for intimate encounters with the wilds of Patagonia. It's an ideal setting for hikers and skiers of all skill levels to venture through its snow-covered, glacier-free landscape.
Starting from the Laguna Cóndor Refuge, which is located 17 km from El Chaltén, the journey ascends through a serene path lined with a dense forest of lengas, eventually emerging onto rocky terrain that leads us to the summit along the mountain's ridge.
At an elevation of 1200 meters above sea level, we will be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views encompassing the Pirque sector, Purgatorio Hill, Blanco Hill, and a sweeping vista of the metropolitan Andes stretching from La Paloma Hill to Castillo Hill.

Descripción del Tour:

The tour commences at 08:00 am with a pick-up from your hotel situated in the central area of El Chaltén. We set off from the town, traveling 17 km by car to the Laguna Cóndor Refuge.
Upon arrival at the refuge, we'll embark on a trek through a stunning Lengas forest, guiding us upwards. After an hour, as we exit the forest, we'll encounter a spacious rocky terrain that also offers a path to ascend San Roque hill. Our chosen route leads to Loma del Diablo, following the ridge between the Maipo River and the Clarillo River. Without a defined trail, we'll reach the peak by traversing the mountain's edge. The ascent is relatively easy; La Loma del Diablo is renowned for its wide faces and corridors of varying slopes, catering to all skill levels.
After climbing for two hours, we will arrive at the summit, 1200 meters above sea level. We will pause to enjoy lunch while taking in the breathtaking panoramic views from the summit. In the northwest, we'll spot Purgatorio Hill, to the west, the Cerro Blanco, and we'll also view an extensive section of the metropolitan Andes, stretching from Cerro la Paloma to Castillo hill.
At around 2 p.m., we will begin our descent through the same mountain sector back to Refugio Laguna Cóndor, where we'll take a final break after approximately 7 hours and 20 km of trekking, complete with a snack and a hot drink.
The tour concludes with a drop-off at your hotel at around 5:00 p.m.
