Our journey commences as we depart from the Ushuaia tourist port, heading towards the heart of the Beagle Channel. As we distance ourselves, you'll be treated to stunning panoramic views of Ushuaia's coast and the majestic Olivia and Five Brothers mountains.
We navigate southwest, drawing near to Isla de los Lobos, where sea lions can be observed in their natural habitat from the boat. Our voyage continues to Bird Island, home to Magellanic and Imperial Cormorants, offering a prime spot for viewing marine birdlife. The furthest point of our journey is the Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse, located in the namesake archipelago. Here, remnants of the Monte Cervantes shipwreck from 1930 can be seen.
As we follow the southern coastline of Tierra del Fuego's Big Island, we pass by Estancia Remolino, where the Monte Sarmiento ship remains stranded. Crossing the Beagle Channel from north to south, we view Gable Island and the Puerto Williams Naval Base (situated on Navarino Island, Republic of Chile). Upon arrival at Hammer Island, we pause to admire the colony of Magellanic Penguins that nest during the summer months.
We then make our way back to the local port, passing the Estancias Tunnel and Fique along the return journey.
