Starting at 2:30 pm, we will pick you up from all hotels for an exciting tour. Our journey begins along Avenida 9 de Julio and through the Recoleta neighborhood, where you will hear the captivating life story of Eva Perón. Once introduced to her legacy, we will arrive at the Recoleta Cemetery, where a 30-minute guided tour awaits. Here, we will visit the mausoleums of significant figures in Argentine history, including Marcelo T. de Alvear, president from 1922 to 1928, and Raúl Alfonsín, the first democratically elected president in 1983 after the military regime. The tour also includes the Evita mausoleum and her family.
Our next stop is the vibrant heart of Palermo, renowned for its bohemian vibe and innovative design. In Palermo Hollywood, known for its film studios, television, and radio production houses, we will explore the neighborhood that influenced the life and works of the esteemed writer Jorge Luis Borges. This is where he spent his formative years and crafted his most celebrated novels.
Palermo was instrumental in shaping Borges's literary journey. At Borges 2135 in Palermo Soho stands the house where he spent his childhood. Nearby, at Honduras 3784, you will find the home of poet Evaristo Carriego, whose biography Borges penned.
Additionally, Palermo hosts the Jorge Luis Borges International Foundation, established in 1988 by his widow and literary secretary María Kodama. This foundation houses various personal items of the writer and offers a vibrant cultural agenda.
The tour wraps up with a 30-minute exploration of the Evita Museum, providing deeper insights into the life and contributions of one of Argentina's most influential women.
