* Program 1: Las Queñuas 4 days/3 nights
(Includes 1 night stay at a mountain post + 2 nights at Posada las Queñuas with full board)
- Departures occur on the first Thursday of each month and during long weekends. The total distance covered is 50 km.
Day 1: Siambón - Anfama
A transport will pick us up at 7:45 am from hotels in San Miguel de Tucumán. We will then travel approximately 60 km north, arriving around 9:00 am in the town of El Siambón. Here, we will be introduced to our horses and briefed on the 7-hour journey ahead.
We will journey through the Rio Grande ravine, witnessing the diverse vegetation that forms the jungle, until we reach the peaks of Anfama. During the trip, we will pause for lunch and take in the stunning scenery.
In the afternoon, we will continue to the Rasguido family post, where we will be welcomed with the characteristic warmth of mountain folks. We will dine and rest here, preparing for the next day's adventure.
Day 2: Anfama - Las Queñuas
At around 9:00 am, we will set out for San José de Chaquivil, crossing deep streams and rivers. Along the route, we will encounter indigenous relics such as the corrales de pirca and menhirs, amidst a variety of landscapes.
After covering 8 kilometers, we will reach the renowned Las Queñuas inn, constructed using local materials like adobe, stone, straw, and reeds, and situated on the old ranch's foundations. Lunch will be ready upon our arrival.
In the afternoon, you can unwind, explore, and learn about the Las Queñuas Reserve project. We will dine and spend the night here.
Day 3: Las Queñuas
Breakfast will be served at the Posada, followed by a horseback or walking tour of the reserve's highlights, including the historic Don Eusebio post and the Guanacos table at 3,100 meters above sea level at the base of Cerro Negrito, where you may see condors soaring in the sky.
The afternoon is yours to relax and soak in the serenity of Las Queñuas. We will spend another night here, enjoying a delicious lamb or barbecue meal by a cozy bonfire.
Day 4: Las Queñuas - Raco
Starting at 8:00 am, breakfast will be served, and once finished, our horses will be ready for the journey to Raco (1,200 meters above sea level). We will traverse the “Camino de las Cumbres de Raco,” reaching altitudes of 2,200 meters, passing through “La Hoyada,” nestled between two rivers at the mountain's base.
We will stop for lunch along the way. Once in Raco, we will bid farewell to our horses and the hills. A transport will then take us back to San Miguel de Tucumán, arriving at our accommodation around 6:30 pm.

The landscape transitions from lush ravines with alders and elderberries to wild meadows, culminating in a high valley where sheep graze as if on a golf course.
We will make various stops throughout the day for lunch and snacks.
By late afternoon, after covering about 17 kilometers, we will arrive at a humble family abode, where we can unwind and enjoy a hot meal.
Day 4: La Cienega - Tafí del Valle
The last challenging leg of the journey begins early, culminating in Tafí del Valle, located at 2,000 meters above sea level. On this route, we will see ancient corrals and the remnants of small indigenous settlements, or "antigales."
Before reaching Tafí del Valle, we will pause to admire the breathtaking view of the valley, including the La Angostura Dam and the summer villages of Tafí and El Mollar.
Upon arrival at the hill's base, lunch will be served. Afterward, a vehicle will transport us back to San Miguel de Tucumán. Along the way, we will traverse landscapes showcasing nature's diverse contrasts, arriving at our accommodation around 6:30 pm.
