Porteño Fileteado Tour

🎨 We will begin our tour in front of the historic Notable Bar El Federal in San Telmo, where our guide will introduce us to the fundamental concepts of porteño fileteado, with a colorful fileteado mural as the backdrop.

We will then explore the streets of San Telmo, a true open-air museum where this traditional Buenos Aires art form can be found on facades, signs, and throughout the neighborhood. During the walk, we will learn about the history of fileteado, its main characteristics, and the legacy of the great masters who transformed it into a symbol of Buenos Aires culture.

Originating in Buenos Aires at the beginning of the 20th century, fileteado became one of the most recognizable expressions of Argentine identity. Its cultural significance extended beyond the country’s borders, and today it is recognized as part of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

🏛️ We will visit the Church of San Pedro González Telmo, where we can admire several works by the renowned master Martiniano Arce. We will then continue to the iconic San Telmo Market, one of the most traditional and frequently visited places in Buenos Aires.

✨ To conclude the tour, we will take part in an exclusive class with a Master Fileteador, who will share the techniques and secrets of this traditional Argentine art. With his guidance, we will create our own piece to take home as a unique souvenir of an authentic Buenos Aires experience.
