The tour kicks off at 6:00 pm at the Plaza de los Pioneros in the city of El Calafate. Here, we will be greeted by our guide who will be waiting with an empanada and a glass to sample the first grape of a Patagonian wine. The guide will share insights into the origins of the wine industry in the southern region of Argentina.
Our walking tour will begin, allowing us to explore some of the city's history as we stroll along Libertador Avenue, Perito Moreno Square, the parish, and the town hall, among other landmarks.
Next, we'll head to the first house in the town where we'll sample the second wine variety before proceeding to Pasaje Soto. As we make our way to this passage, the guide will discuss the town's evolution, and once there, we will enjoy a third wine tasting while learning about the individual who inspired the name of the location.
We will then visit the Parks Department where the guide will explain the significance of the National Parks in the growth and development of El Calafate.
Our final stop will be at the Wine Shop, where we will be welcomed with a cheese board and a Patagonian sparkling wine to toast to the conclusion of the tour.
After 2 hours, the tour will conclude at the same location.
