Lagoon And Mountains Of The Padres

We will depart at a scheduled time from our centrally located hotels in Mar del Plata to begin our journey along Provincial Route 226, which offers beautiful rural landscapes. This route will take us to the Laguna de los Padres Integral Nature Reserve, located 14 kilometers from the city of Mar del Plata.

Sierra de Los Padres is a historic site and home to the greatest biological diversity in the region. The Puelches (Spanish indigenous people) once lived here, making the Laguna de Los Padres Reserve a very important place for its history and its unique flora and fauna.

We will also visit the Nuestra Señora del Pilar Jesuit Reduction. Continuing our journey, we will go to the Gruta de los Pañuelos: an enormous cavity between the rocks, forming a kind of grotto and inside which there is a small altar where the Virgin of Luján is placed on top of it. Today it is a place of devotion and large numbers of people come to pray and make requests.
