Tour Description

Day 1

Arrival in Salta

Upon arriving at Salta airport or the bus terminal, you'll be transported to your hotel located in the city center.

The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore as you like.

Day 2

Full-day Excursion to Cafayate

Cafayate, 12-hour tour

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel, followed by pickup by a private guide to embark on a journey from Salta city heading south through Route 68. This route traverses the Lerma Valley and its historic villages. You'll arrive at the Quebrada de las Conchas, where wind and water erosion have crafted intriguing rock formations such as El Anfiteatro, La Garganta del Diablo, El Sapo, Los Castillos, and more.

In Cafayate, we'll tour two wineries renowned for their Torrontés wine, which boasts unique qualities due to the region's specific climate and soil.

After enjoying lunch, we'll journey back to Salta via the Quebrada de las Conchas and Lerma Valley, witnessing how the altered sunlight transforms the scenery in the ravine.

Your guide will return you to your hotel in Salta.

Day 3 and 4

Humahuaca and Iruya Gorges - Two-day Adventure

Following breakfast at your hotel, your private guide will collect you for a two-day excursion to Iruya.

The trip begins with a stop at the quaint Purmamarca to marvel at the Hill of Seven Colors, the Church, and the Crafts Market Square. Continuing to Tilcara, we'll explore the Pucará and the Archaeological Museum.

Next, we'll head to Huacalera, passing the Tropic of Capricorn, where you'll see the colorful hill known as the Pollera la Colla.

Along the route, you'll visit the Church of Uquía, famous for the Arquebusier Angels paintings. Arriving in Humahuaca, you'll explore its notable cathedral and the Independence Monument (El Indio).

As we pass through Iturbe and the Abra del Cóndor (3900 m), you'll arrive at the picturesque stream's mouth, home to the town of Iruya, with Hispanic roots. Here, you'll overnight in a 4-star hotel, and the following day, you'll begin a leisurely return to Salta. On the way back, we'll visit the city of San Salvador de Jujuy before returning to Salta in the afternoon.

Goodbye to Salta

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and enjoy some free time before we transport you to the airport or bus terminal.
