The remainder of the day is yours to explore at your leisure.
Accommodation: 3 nights in a selected hotel (double room with breakfast).
Day 2
Quebrada de Humahuaca
Jujuy
After breakfast at the hotel, embark on a journey through the renowned Quebrada de Humahuaca, a designated World Heritage Site, where the stunning landscape and vibrant hill colors meet the equally rich cultures of the region.
The trip begins with a stop at the charming village of Purmamarca to admire the Hill of Seven Colors, the Church, and the Craft Market in the square.
We move on through the Posta de Hornillos, heading towards Tilcara to explore the Pucará and the Archaeological Museum.
Our journey continues to Huacalera, crossing the Tropic of Capricorn, where you can view the colorful hill known as the Pollera de la Colla. We will visit the Church of Uquía, home to the famous Arquebusier Angels paintings. Arrive in Humahuaca, famous for its significant Cathedral and the Monument to Independence (El Indio) by sculptor Soto Avendaño.
Following lunch, enjoy views of the Painter's Palette framing the town of Maimara as we return to Salta via the scenic cornice road with lush subtropical vegetation.
We will pass through the Abra de Santa Laura, viewing the La Ciénaga dam, Las Maderas, and Campo Alegre, returning to Salta through Vaqueros.
Day 3
Excursion to the Cafayate Wine Region
Salta
The journey begins in the Lerma Valley, crossing tobacco fields and towns with colonial architecture, such as Germany, once the terminal of the Belgrano railway.
We then enter the Quebrada del Río Las Conchas, known for its intriguing formations sculpted by wind and water: the dunes, the toad, the bishop, the Devil's Throat, the castles, the amphitheater, among others.
Continuing along National Route 68, we arrive at Cafayate, the newest city in the Calchaquíes Valleys, celebrated worldwide for its wine varieties, especially Torrontés, which you can sample at local wineries, both artisanal and industrial.
The return to Salta follows the same route, but the different lighting will transform the landscape in the ravine.
Day 4
