Tour Description

Day 1
Arrival in Ushuaia
City of Ushuaia
Upon arriving at Ushuaia airport, you'll be warmly greeted and escorted to your hotel situated in the heart of the city.
The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure.
Day 2
Trekking and Canoeing
The excursion begins around 9 am with a minibus transfer from the hotel to Tierra del Fuego National Park, specifically to Ensenada Zaratiegui, where breathtaking views of the Beagle Channel and the prominent Redonda, Hoste, and Navarino islands await you.
We will embark on a trek along the Coastal Path, a seven-kilometer trail offering the chance to explore the diverse flora and birdlife of the Beagle Channel and the Fuegian forest, along with traces of historic Yámana settlements native to the area.
Upon completing the approximately 3-hour walk, we'll recharge with a traditional full lunch in a dome or tent.
Post-lunch, around 2 p.m., we embark on a canoe journey along the Lapataia River, leading us to our final destination, the Lapataia Bay in the Beagle Channel, the endpoint of both the Pan-American Highway and National Route No. 3.
You will then return to Ushuaia by minibus, arriving at approximately 4:30 p.m.
Enjoy a free evening.
Day 3
Leisure Day
On the third day, feel free to explore at your own pace, whether it's strolling around the city or near the hotel, or embarking on any additional excursions you've planned independently.
Day 4
4x4 Adventure
Escondido and Fagnano Lakes
Following breakfast at your hotel, you will be picked up between 8 and 8:30 am to head towards the Lakes. The minibus will take Route 3 through a segment of the Fuegian mountain range, granting access to the Garibaldi Pass, a vantage point offering views of the tour's highlights, the Escondido and Fagnano Lakes.
We'll descend and veer off the main road onto old woodcutters' trails. Land Rover vehicles will navigate through forested areas, mud, and rocks, reaching places otherwise inaccessible. Lake Fagnano will impress with its vastness and stunning scenery.
By around 12:30 pm, you'll reach a refuge where a scrumptious Creole barbecue awaits you.
After savoring lunch and rejuvenating, the adventure continues as we ford Lake Fagnano to access an internal trail leading to the smaller yet beautifully encased Lake Escondido.
At approximately 2 p.m., we'll begin our return to Ushuaia via sections of the old National Route 3, arriving at your hotel around 3 p.m.
Enjoy another free evening.
Day 5
Farewell to Ushuaia
City of Ushuaia
In the morning, after breakfast, you'll check out of your hotel and have some leisure time before your transportation arrives to take you to the Ushuaia airport.

Frequently Asked Questions

Ushuaia Adventure typically includes round-trip transfers from centrally located hotels, a professional bilingual guide (Spanish/English), basic safety equipment, and assistance throughout the tour. The itinerary may vary depending on the chosen option and weather conditions: 4x4 off-road excursions to lakes and viewpoints, short hikes through sub-Antarctic forest, photo stops, and, in some options, a regional lunch or snack. Some tours combine gentle trekking, visits to Lakes Escondido and Fagnano, or coastal sections with views of the Beagle Channel. The final route, timings, and included services are confirmed upon booking. It's an ideal adventure tourism experience for discovering Patagonia at the "End of the World."

The duration varies depending on the option: half-day excursions (approx. 4–6 hours) or full-day excursions (8–10 hours). Departure times are usually in the morning, with pick-up from centrally located hotels in Ushuaia and, when applicable, an alternative meeting point at the pier or cruise passenger center. The exact pick-up time and window will be confirmed by email or WhatsApp after booking. We recommend being ready 10–15 minutes prior to departure. During peak season, spaces are limited and return times may be extended due to traffic or weather. If you are staying outside the city limits, please inquire about any applicable surcharges or designated meeting points.

This is an easy to moderate excursion, suitable for active travelers, couples, and families with children. It requires the ability to walk on uneven terrain, get in and out of vehicles, and tolerate bumpy roads in 4x4 sections. Off-roading is not recommended for pregnant women or people with recent back/neck injuries; gentler alternatives are available upon request. Accessibility is limited on natural trails and in areas with mud or snow, so wheelchairs are not suitable for off-road excursions. Please inform us of any medical conditions, allergies, and dietary requirements in advance so we can adjust the service accordingly. Bring your ID. The local guide prioritizes safety and a responsible experience.

The weather in Ushuaia is changeable: you can experience “four seasons in one day.” Pack layers, a waterproof/windproof jacket, hiking or athletic shoes with good traction, a hat, scarf, gloves, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Also bring a reusable water bottle, camera, snacks, and any personal medication. Summer temperatures are typically 5–15°C with winds; winter temperatures are cold, snowy, and slippery (–5 to 5°C). Avoid cotton; prioritize quick-drying technical clothing. If your trip includes sailing, pack extra layers and a hat. Check the forecast 24 hours in advance and follow the tour operator's recommendations for a safe and comfortable excursion in Patagonia.

You can book online with Best Argentina Tours, check the departure calendar, and receive email confirmation with your digital voucher. During peak season, it's advisable to secure your spot in advance. The cancellation policy is usually flexible with prior notice; date changes and rescheduling due to weather are handled according to the local operator's availability. In case of adverse conditions, rescheduling is prioritized, or a proportional refund is offered where applicable. Usual payment methods include credit/debit cards and bank transfers; check if there are options in local currency or USD. Taxes and fees are detailed in the tour information. The team provides support before and during the trip.
