Vacation Package El Chalten Adventure

Upon reaching the bus terminal, a warm welcome awaits as you are transferred to your centrally located hotel. The rest of the day is yours to explore at your leisure.

At 9:00 a.m., we embark on our trekking adventure, tracing the Diablo River upstream in a 2-hour hike through a vibrant lenga forest on a well-maintained path, leading us to Laguna del Diablo (770 meters above sea level).

At around 11:00 am, we begin the second part of our excursion, which involves skirting the northern edge of Laguna del Diablo through easy yet irregular terrain until we reach the start of a via ferrata (a low-difficulty rock-climbing section). This segment covers a total distance of 1 km, with 200 meters of elevation change.

It takes about an hour to arrive at the glacier's viewpoint. From here, we can admire the untouched Cagliero South Glacier (950 meters above sea level). A short walk from the viewpoint brings us to the glacier's front, where guides will equip hikers with crampons to begin the third part of our journey: the walk and trek on the glacier. The average time spent on the glacier is around 2 hours, varying based on weather conditions and the group's physical capabilities.

We will return via the same route, reaching the information center approximately 3 hours later. The transfer from El Chaltén is scheduled for 5:30 pm, with an arrival back at the hotels around 6:30 pm.

Each participant receives rafting gear before heading with the guides to the river entry point, where a briefing on rafting techniques and safety will be provided.

After practicing paddling techniques and safety maneuvers, the group sets out on the water. The initial segment covers four kilometers of tranquil, winding waters, offering a stunning view of Fitz Roy in the background, perfect for familiarizing yourself with the raft and river while honing paddling skills for the next phase.

The second segment takes us through the ravine section. Following the first rapid, we encounter a series of thrilling rapids for 8 km. The river's speed creates an exhilarating experience; ups and downs in the pristine waters offer a journey shaped by nature's course. The adventure concludes with a final descent over a 2 km stretch of calm waters.

We depart El Chaltén, traveling by bus the 36 km to Lago del Desierto along a scenic route framed by forests and the winding Río de las Vueltas.

From the Punta Sur dock, we embark on a 30-minute sail, viewing the Huemul and Crestón glaciers before disembarking in the Vespignani Glacier area, situated in the lake's center.

Once there, we commence the trekking portion, always under the guidance of an activity supervisor for your safety. You can choose from several well-marked trails in the Vespignani Glacier Reserve, tailored to your preferred difficulty and exertion level:

The most challenging trail takes approximately 45 minutes at a leisurely pace to conquer 150 meters of elevation, leading to the glacier's base and offering an incredible view of Mount Fitz Roy's north face.

The intermediate trail provides a gentle, steady slope, reaching an outstanding panoramic viewpoint overlooking the glacier in just 15 minutes.

After a farewell snack, we board the boat again to return to the Punta Sur pier, from where the bus transports us back to El Chaltén.

In the morning, following breakfast, you'll check out of your hotel and enjoy free time until your vehicle arrives to take you to the bus terminal in El Chaltén.
