Tour Description
Peninsula Valdés has been recognized as a World Heritage Site, featuring a diverse array of unique species that thrive in this ideal habitat. This excursion spans a full day and is led by experienced naturalist and bilingual guides.
Our journey begins at the Carlos Ameghino Isthmus Interpretation Centre, where you'll gain insights into the Peninsula's diverse fauna, flora, and geology. We will also visit a panoramic viewpoint offering vistas of New Gulf, San José, and Birds Island.
Next, we will stop at Puerto Pirámides, where you can opt for whale watching (seasonal) or a boat ride with snorkeling (optional).
As we continue the tour, depending on the season, weather, or tides, we may visit Caleta Valdés, Punta Cantor, and Punta Norte to observe elephant seals, penguins, and sea lions in varying order or combined with other stops.
Land-based orca observation is possible at Punta Norte, with peak sightings in March and April, and occasionally in September at Caleta Valdés.
We will return to the city around 18:30/19:00 hrs.
