This kayaking tour provides the unique opportunity to reach secluded spots that are accessible only by water, unveiling completely private beaches. During the Kayaking adventure on Lake Lacar and Pichi Machonico, you'll be immersed in breathtaking nature, surrounded by crystal-clear lakes, verdant forests, and majestic mountains.
A professional guide will accompany you throughout the journey, ensuring your safety with the necessary equipment. Additionally, you'll savor a snack during one of the several stops along the way.
Tour Description
The day prior to our adventure, we will attend an informative session where we'll confirm our meeting time or the schedule for our pickup from the accommodation.
We have the freedom to select from two distinct experiences based on our personal preferences:
- Option 1: Lake Lacar and Islita.
This option lasts for 4 hours.
Departures are available both in the morning and afternoon.
Our journey begins at the pier in San Martin de los Andes, where our guide will welcome us, provide the necessary equipment, and deliver a briefing on paddling techniques and safety precautions.
Initially, we will paddle within the bay of Lake Lacar, which borders San Martin de los Andes, before venturing into the expansive lake. We will trace the northern shore, navigating alongside the towering granite cliffs. The crystal-clear waters offer glimpses of trout, algae, and submerged trees.
We will reach secluded beaches accessible only by boat. If weather and temperature permit, we may take a refreshing swim in the lake's transparent waters.
Our journey will cover approximately 5 kilometers until we arrive at "La Islita," a private beach where we will pause to enjoy a snack and take in the tranquil surroundings.
After 4 hours of paddling, we'll return to the shores of San Martin de Los Andes, where we'll return our equipment and conclude the excursion.
- Option 2: Machonico Channel and Pichi Machonico Lake
This option lasts for 5 hours.
Morning and afternoon departures are available.
A shuttle will collect us from our accommodation, and we will journey for about 30 minutes along National Route 40 to reach Lake Machonico, situated along the renowned Seven Lakes Route.
Upon arrival, our guide will equip us and provide a briefing on paddling techniques and safety protocols.
We will begin by crossing the lake to access the Machonico Channel. During the half-hour navigation through the channel, we will experience an extraordinary connection with the Andean Forest, witnessing breathtaking landscapes and the pristine, emerald waters.
As we exit the channel, we will reach Lake Pichi Machonico, a small lake nestled in a forest surrounded by mountains, featuring waterfalls and caves at the heart of the Andes. We will savor the profound silence and the essence of nature.
We will pause at this lake to have a snack, enjoy the surroundings, and rejuvenate for the return journey.
After 5 hours on the water, we will return to the shores of Lake Machonico, where our transport will be waiting to take us back to our accommodation.
