Our journey commences with the pick-up starting at 8:30 am from the centrally located hotels in San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca.
We travel along Route 38 until we arrive at La Merced, our first destination, renowned as "The hidden paradise". Here, we'll embark on a city tour through this vast canyon nestled between the Ancasti and La Graciana mountain ranges.
During our walk, we will traverse Balcozna to take in its lush mountains and streams panoramically. As its Quechua name signifies, it is the “enclosure of the valley.” This serene haven boasts a unique microclimate inviting relaxation and contemplation.
Continuing our tour, we ascend the Cuesta de Singuil, which links two significant towns. Along this journey, we will explore a variety of towns scattered along the route. From this vantage point, we will witness breathtaking landscapes, including the Yungas Jungle, natural grasslands, and an extensive area of cultivated fields.
After descending the slope, we rejoin Route 1 and pass through towns such as El Bolsón and Los Varela, offering us a sweeping view of their attractions.
Ultimately, we arrive at the town of La Puerta, where the Valle River accompanies us to Las Pirquitas Dam, the largest reservoir in the province, notable for being constructed with diverse materials compared to other reservoirs. We will pause for approximately 20 minutes to relish the breathtaking vista this location offers. After 6 hours, we will head back to the city center to drop you off at your centrally located hotel.
