Tour Description
In the morning, your guide will collect you at 07:30 from your hotel in El Calafate to head towards Puerto La Soledad (Tranquila Bay, Punta Bandera area).
Upon arriving at the destination after a one-hour bus journey, we will board a modern catamaran at 09:00.
The voyage begins as we head northwest, passing by Punta Avellaneda and Boca del Diablo - the lake's narrowest passage, approximately 800 meters wide. After two hours of sailing, the series of icebergs in the most varied colors and shapes signals the approach of the Uppsala Glacier. We will pause in front of the iceberg barrier that temporarily blocks access to the Uppsala Channel, and, if weather conditions allow, we will admire the Upsala Glacier from afar.
We will continue our journey through Argentine Lake heading south, navigating the Spegazzini Channel to reach the glacier of the same name. This navigation offers a striking close-up view of the glacier, whose frontal walls rise between 80 and 135 meters above the lake, making it the tallest in the National Park.
The cruise ship features four exterior decks that provide panoramic views from all angles.
After observing the glacier, a delightful gourmet meal will be served on board as we savor this breathtaking landscape.
In the afternoon, the cruise ship will reach -an exceptionally calm bay within the Spegazzini Channel-, where it will turn off its engines to let passengers disembark for a short, low-intensity trek, coordinated by our team of guides. We will walk for an hour through the Patagonian forest, on land once used for livestock farming. The trail leads us to stunning panoramic viewpoints where we can admire and photograph the Spegazzini Glacier from a new angle.
In the final segment, we will navigate towards the Perito Moreno Glacier, offering a privileged view of the north face of this ever-growing ice giant.
We will then commence our return journey, arriving at the La Soledad Private Port by 5:00 p.m., from where we will transport you back to your hotel in El Calafate.
Should you wish for an even more enriched experience, we now offer the option to disembark at Puerto Moreno around 3:30 p.m. for a 2-hour trek on the Footbridges, followed by a return to the hotels in El Calafate.
