Our adventure kicks off with a pick-up from the central hotels of El Calafate around noon, heading towards Estancia Río Mitre. We will embark on a 53-kilometer journey skirting the breathtaking Lago Argentino , before connecting with route 60 and following a gravel path until we reach our destination.
As we approach, you'll notice that the estancia is surrounded by stunning landscapes , positioned opposite the Andes Mountains and the Magallanes Peninsula . Once inside, you'll be warmly greeted with tea, mate, or hot coffee as we receive a welcome talk . The team will brief us about the horses , discuss safety protocols for riding , and outline important considerations for participating in this activity.
Then, we'll proceed to the stables to begin our horseback ride towards the shores of Lake Rico . Here, we will navigate the lake's perimeter , taking in the stunning vistas of the snow-capped mountains surrounding us . At this point, our sole focus will be to immerse ourselves in the sounds of nature , appreciate the unique landscape , and observe the plentiful migratory birds that frequent the area.
Simultaneously, the guide will share insights into the history and geography of the location for those interested. This will be a time where everyone is free to ride independently or explore the area with the guide.
Upon completion, the guide will escort us back to the ranch, where a delicious Patagonian Lamb cooked on the stake will be waiting for us alongside a diverse selection of salads. After lunch, you'll have free time to explore the ranch's facilities, while those who opted for the "4 HS RIDING" will engage in this activity during the free period.
After enjoying this incredible day, we will journey back to the city and return you to the central hotel.
