At either 9 AM or 4 PM, based on your chosen tour, the adventure kicks off with passenger pick-up in a comfortable 4x4 vehicle from the hotels. Once everyone is on board, the journey begins by ascending the Huyliche and Calafate hills, eventually reaching the private Estancia 25 de Mayo National Park.
Embark on this extraordinary 4x4 expedition to explore the most secluded areas of Deep Patagonia. Starting from the city of El Calafate, we head south, reaching vantage points that offer stunning views of the Verlika and Baguales hills, which delineate the southern border with Chile. As we follow the path of the Calafate stream, you'll notice the flora transitioning as we climb higher until we arrive at the Villalba family outpost, the earliest settlers of this estancia. Here, you'll have the chance to take in the surrounding landscape while learning about the family's rich history. As we pass through the property, we'll also get a glimpse of the rural activities that are carried out on-site.
Next, we'll disembark for a fossil trekking adventure, where you'll have 30 minutes to explore and uncover archaeological sites from the Ice Age. As we delve into the steppe, our guides will introduce you to the various species inhabiting the area, sharing insights into their lifestyles.
Upon returning to the ravine, you'll have the opportunity to savor a delicious country stew at the "La Sección" stand.
After enjoying lunch or dinner, we will embark on the return journey to El Calafate.
