Embark on an exclusive journey that kicks off at around 7 AM from Calafate. Following your hotel pickup, we'll venture along the legendary Route 40, skirting the shores of Argentino Lake and crossing the Santa Cruz River. Here, our guide will share fascinating tales of Darwin and Fitz Roy, who once navigated these waters.
Our adventure continues to the La Leona River, where we'll traverse its canyon and, after approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, arrive at the historic Paso La Leona route hotel, a near-museum dedicated to Route 40. Here, indulge in homemade cakes and coffee before we proceed alongside Lake Viedma, with the majestic Andes Mountains as our backdrop (featuring the iconic Fitz Roy and Torre peaks).
Prior to reaching the town, we will pause at the Viedma Glacier viewpoint, offering a breathtaking panoramic vista of the Glacier, the Cordillera, and the renowned Cerro Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre.
After a 3-hour journey covering 220 km, we'll arrive at the charming mountain village of El Chaltén. Upon arrival, we'll receive a warm welcome before embarking on self-guided trail walks from El Chaltén, leading to stunning viewpoints of Fitz Roy or Cerro Torre.
