Trekking Through The Yatan Gorge

The journey sets off at the entrance bridge to La Cumbrecita, a charming mountain village renowned for its pedestrian streets and alpine allure. As you pass through the Historic Center, the trail begins its ascent towards the peak of Cerro Wank, which stands at 1,620 meters above sea level.

The path features a 260-meter elevation gain, offering progressively expansive vistas of the Cordoba mountains. Once at the summit, the trail proceeds northward, leading into the expansive and tranquil Pampa de Achala. The area, characterized by highland pastures and pristine streams, evokes a profound sense of solitude and peace.

The trek advances until you reach the Balcón del Yatán, a prime viewpoint where you can admire the sweeping views of the Yatán River gorge and its prominent waterfalls. The vastness of the scenery encourages you to pause, explore the surroundings, and relish an outdoor lunch.

Following the break, the return journey retraces the same path, offering a fresh perspective on the landscape and concluding the adventure with a final gaze at the majestic mountains.
