The adventure kicks off with the pick-up from hotels in Salta between 07:00 and 07:30 AM, using 4x4 vehicles.
Our journey from Salta takes us into the majestic Andes mountain range, following the path through Quebrada del Toro, which marks the beginning of the renowned Train to the Clouds route. We'll arrive at one of Argentina's most significant pre-Incan sites, where evidence of 2,000 natives once residing has been discovered. Here, we'll explore the archaeological site of the Santa Rosa de Tastil citadel, its terraces, and visit the museum.
Next, we proceed to Laguna del Toro, situated at an elevation of 3,000 meters. This spot is undeniably a place of outstanding natural beauty, perfect for observing regional birdlife, including pink flamingos and Andean ducks, among other species. Surrounded by this breathtaking landscape, we'll savor our lunch before making our way back.
We'll return to the hotels in Salta by the afternoon.
