Descripción del Tour:
Our journey commences with a captivating experience on the "Road to the Clouds." In this segment, we'll trace the legendary path of the Train to the Clouds, marveling at this engineering feat initiated in the 1920s. This route takes us through the Quebrada del Toro to San Antonio de los Cobres. We will pause for photo opportunities, such as at the La Polvorilla Viaduct, and visit Alfarcito, a charming spot nestled in the heights of the Quebrada del Toro, where a delightful breakfast awaits us.
Following this, we embark on the journey along the route leading to Salinas Grandes. This phase presents a starkly different landscape from the earlier part of the trip, with the possibility of spotting llamas and vicuñas.
At Salinas, we encounter one of Argentina's most stunning white expanses, adorned with sporadic turquoise hues and nearly perfect reflections. Here, guided by a local expert, we have the opportunity to explore this vast salt sea, the turquoise lagoons that captivate all visitors, and make a special visit to the Ojos del Salar (subject to weather conditions or seasonal restrictions imposed by the indigenous communities managing the visits). The local guide will also delve into the fascinating process of table salt extraction. This is where we can capture the iconic jumping photos, play with perspectives, and capture the reflections in the pools and the salt flat's eyes.
After soaking in the beauty of this salt mirror, we transition to the third leg of our journey, traversing the Cuesta de Lipán, an unforgettable scenic route featuring a 2,000-meter descent over 35 km. Here, you'll witness the transition from the arid desert of the Puna to the lush fertility of the more humid valleys. Following this leg, we reach the town of Purmamarca, where we'll make a technical stop.
From Purmamarca, we commence our return journey to the City of Salta.
