The excursion commences with a hotel pickup in Salta at 07:00 a.m.
Our journey takes us through the Lerma Valley, passing expansive tobacco fields and towns that showcase colonial architecture influenced by German styles, once marking the terminus of the Belgrano railway. We delve into the Quebrada del Río Las Conchas, where wind and water have sculpted fascinating formations: the dunes, the toad, the bishop, the devil's throat, the castles, the amphitheater, and more. Continuing on National Route 68, we reach Cafayate, the youngest city within the Calchaquí Valleys, famed globally for its wine varietals, particularly Torrontés.
