Rural Tourism Ferreyra Post

At the scheduled time, we set off from the meeting point either on horseback or in a 4x4 vehicle from the Plaza de San Javier to reach the post.

Upon our arrival at the post, we are welcomed into a charming setting surrounded by refreshing breezes and mature fruit trees. Here, Don Hernán Ferreyra, along with his wife Cristina and their children, greets us with traditional mate infused with pepperina, homemade bread, and some seasonal sweets.

As we stroll through the mountains that breathe life into the Ferreyra Post, we observe cows and horses peacefully grazing at its summit. Additionally, we will encounter a diverse array of farm animals, including goats, whose pens facilitate the production of milk and cheese. Throughout the excursion, there will be opportunities to interact with some of these animals.

The Ferreyra family maintains the Weaving tradition and the harvest of mountain herbs. Visitors can admire the ponchos, blankets, and quilts they craft on a large wooden loom, which are available for purchase.

After enjoying our mate, we proceed to the corrals where the goats await their mothers returning from grazing. We then ascend the stream to reach the Hoya del Tabaquillo, a deep pool with crystal-clear waters, home to a sample of the Tabaquillo tree.

Finally, we return to the Post, where lunch and folk music await us. After this delightful rural experience, we bid farewell and commence our return journey through streams and ferns, either on horseback or in the 4x4 vehicle, depending on the chosen option.

During the nighttime return, unlike the daytime, the path is illuminated by the stars and the moon, and we carry flashlights to illuminate our way.

We will arrive at Estancia Las Violetas, where the tour concludes after 7 hours.
