Embark on a half-day adventure that seamlessly blends trekking and paddling. We will begin by picking you up from your hotel and heading to our starting location. Our journey kicks off with a 40-minute, gentle hike through the lush forests and peatlands unique to Tierra del Fuego. Upon reaching Laguna Mariposa, we will inflate the boats each participant carries in their backpack. These Packrafts are lightweight, portable inflatable boats, perfect for navigating all types of water, including technical whitewater, ocean bays, and fjords. During this time, you'll receive a briefing on safety measures and paddling techniques.
At the lagoon, we'll hone our skills before venturing into the river. We'll paddle downstream for approximately an hour, taking in the breathtaking views of the Andes Mountains' majestic landscapes. The river is a haven for wildlife, where ducks, birds, and occasionally beavers can be spotted.
Our journey includes a stop at a river beach, the confluence of the Laguna Esmeralda stream and the Olivia River. Here, you can take a break to enjoy a snack and relax amidst the breathtaking surroundings.
We will continue our expedition through sections flanked by native forests and bushes, allowing you to connect with nature and admire the pristine scenery.
