Laguna Brava 4x4 Tour

We will depart from Villa Unión at 7 Hrs, we will pass through Villa Castelli and Vinchina where we will visit the Diaguitas stars, and then we will enter the Quebrada de la Trolla. We will walk a path to the Riverside, meandering between impressive folds and fractures of the earth`s crust. Among the strata, we will find traces of prehistoric animals that toured the area in search of water, which were printed on the rocks and extracted for conservation and study.

We will arrive at the town of Jague, which is an old town preserved almost entirely with its adobe houses. Then we will begin the ascent to the Cordillera through the Quebrada del Peñón, of beautiful colors that will leave us surprised not only by their sight but by their inhabitants: we can find traps of vicuñas and guanacos that go down to graze. Here we can take pictures with the Cerro Pilar , which has impressive colors.

We will continue climbing up to the Portezuelo de la Laguna, access door to the Laguna Brava. We will approach it on the east side until we reach the Flamencos Bay, where between October and March we can enjoy the view of pink flamingos, which come down to feed on the plankton of the waters of the lagoon.

If weather conditions permit, we will try to prolong this excursion: we will go around the lagoon until we reach the Refuge, where we will reach the western edge of the lagoon where we will be surprised with the Geysers of the Brava lagoon.

We will return to the Quebrada del Peñón enjoying the colorful path, and we will have a picnic as a lunch in the Refuge. After lunch, we will return to Jague, we will cross again the Quebrada de la Troya towards Vinchina, arriving at Villa Unión at approximately 6:00 p.m.
