Tour Description
On this tour, we'll explore Anchumbil, a fascinating small red canyon reminiscent of Talampaya, where erosion has sculpted intriguing passages and hollows perfect for exploration. Visitors can discover petroglyphs, cave paintings, and remnants of the Diaguita civilization.
Following breakfast, we will set off from the hotel towards either Banda Florida or Anchumbil (subject to availability) for a one-and-a-half-hour trek through the red canyons. As we navigate the canyon's labyrinth, we'll have the opportunity to admire cave paintings that have preserved their original hues, shielded by natural formations.
If access to Anchumbil is unavailable, Banda Florida offers an alternative where we can observe petroglyphs. These engravings, found on large, smooth stones, depict human figures, animals, and suns. Remarkably, despite being exposed to the elements and geological shifts, they have remained intact, showcasing connections to the pre-Diaguita Aguada and Ciénaga cultures.
Upon concluding the trek, we will return to the hotel around midday.
