Tour Description
Your adventure starts early in the morning with a hotel pick-up in El Calafate. From there, you will travel toward El Chaltén, enjoying some of the most iconic landscapes in Patagonia along the way.
During the journey, we will make a technical stop in La Leona. You will have time to use the restrooms and enjoy a hearty breakfast before continuing to El Chaltén.
Upon arriving in the village, we will meet our trekking guide, authorized by Los Glaciares National Park, and continue by vehicle to the Río Eléctrico bridge, located approximately 18 km from El Chaltén. The trek will begin at this point.
🌲 Trekking to Laguna de los Tres
The hike starts by crossing a ñire forest, as the trail gradually climbs through the region’s beautiful natural surroundings.
One of the first highlights is the Piedras Blancas Glacier Viewpoint, offering spectacular views of this impressive hanging glacier and an opportunity to pause and take in the scenery.
We will then continue along the forest trail until reaching Camp Poincenot, followed by Río Blanco. This area serves as a camp for climbers preparing to conquer the imposing walls of Mount Fitz Roy.
From here, the most challenging section of the excursion begins: the final ascent to Laguna de los Tres.
The effort is well worth it when we reach one of Patagonia’s most iconic landscapes. In front of us, we will see Mount Fitz Roy, Glaciar de los Tres (Three Glaciers), and the lagoon, framed by towering granite walls.
We will have time to rest, admire the spectacular views, and enjoy lunch before beginning the descent.
💧 The return journey through new landscapes
The return route offers more opportunities to discover the area’s natural beauty, following trails accompanied by streams and crystal-clear waterways.
During the descent, we will also visit Laguna Capri, another standout attraction on the trail, before continuing toward El Chaltén.
Once back in town, you will have approximately 45 minutes of free time to relax and recharge. You can use this time to enjoy a craft beer, hot chocolate, waffles, or another local specialty.
Finally, we will begin the vehicle journey back to El Calafate.
