LAGO ROCA HORSEBACK RIDING EXPERIENCE (FULL-DAY)
Our journey begins at 08:30 am from selected hotels, heading to Lago Roca Ranch, situated 42 km from the heart of Calafate City. Upon arrival, we will mount our horses and journey towards the mountain region. Here, we will embark on a one-hour expedition to observe the native flora and fauna until we reach the main viewpoint. From this vantage point, we will be captivated by the breathtaking panoramic views of the Perito Moreno Glacier, Roca Lake, Cerro Moreno, Brazo Sur, Cerro Frias, Peninsula de Magallanes, and the Valley of the Camiseta River.
Our adventure continues with a one and a half hour ride to the Rio Rico Camp, where we will savor a delightful lunch featuring meat cooked on a disk, accompanied by wine, juice, or water. After enjoying our meal and a period of rest, we will ride for an additional hour back to the Estancia, before returning to El Calafate around 5 pm.
HORSEBACK RIDING TO THE CHILEAN BORDER (2 DAYS AND 1 NIGHT)
This is a unique experience taking us to the border with Chile. Our journey commences at Lago Roca Ranch, where we ride alongside the Rio Rico river, which flows into the southern arm of Lago Argentino. We will traverse valleys, crossing streams and wetlands to reach Puesto La Rosada.
We will spend the night in a mountain refuge, and the following day, weather permitting, we will return via a high route to admire the Paine Massif and the southern arm of Lago Argentino. Throughout our journey, we will be identifying native species of flora and fauna, while gaining insights into the history, geology, and geography of the region.
