Embark on an extraordinary trekking adventure in El Calafate, reaching the peak of Cerro Frías (1,095 m.a.s.l.). This journey is crafted for those who seek true adventure.
The excursion kicks off with a transfer from your accommodation to the estancia, where we will start our tour from its historic center. After walking for an hour, we'll reach the Refugio Leñador, a shelter used in the early 20th century, where we will pause briefly to recharge.
From this point, we will venture into the lenga forest and tackle a challenging ascent of about 1.5 hours. This climb rewards us with unparalleled views: the Cordón de los Cristales, the Centinela River valley, and on clear days, the iconic Torres del Paine.
The final stretch, the most demanding, leads us to the summit, where a 360° panoramic view of Patagonia awaits, offering breathtaking vistas of the vast Lake Argentino, the Andes Mountains, the Cordón de los Baguales, and, with a stroke of luck, the stunning silhouette of Cerro Fitz Roy.
On the descent, we'll follow alternate trails, pausing at historical shelters to rest and savor a Patagonian lunch. Upon returning to the ranch house, a delightful homemade snack will perfectly conclude this epic journey before your transfer back to the hotel.
