The rivers of Patagonia rank among the best globally for Rafting, making the Corcovado River an ideal choice both for beginners and seasoned adventurers seeking a thrill.

With a class II and III difficulty level, the Corcovado River offers rapids that promise an unforgettable adventure amidst the breathtaking Andean Patagonian Forest. Our journey will commence from Esquel, guided by experienced professionals and equipped with everything necessary to enjoy a remarkable day navigating the river's powerful currents and embracing the natural surroundings.

You can opt for a half-day excursion featuring two hours of water activity or select the full-day experience with lunch included, which covers a thrilling 17-kilometer downstream journey.

Tour Description

Our journey begins in Esquel, where we head out via National Route No. 259, later transitioning to Provincial Route No. 17. Passing through the charming town of Trevelin, we will cover over 90 kilometers to reach the picturesque Corcovado River.

Upon arriving at the riverbank, two seasoned guides will lead and supervise our adventure, providing us with a comprehensive safety briefing, instruction on fundamental movements, raft familiarization, and teamwork techniques. While Corcovado is known for its challenges, with skilled navigation and safety kayaking guiding us, anyone with swimming skills can delight in this thrilling experience.

Participants will be equipped with safety gear, including neoprene suits, life jackets, helmets, and paddles. We'll then practice final maneuvers before embarking on our adventure.

Our initial stretch will be tranquil, allowing us to appreciate the lush forest and pristine environment surrounding us. As we navigate the river bends, the excitement heightens, immersing us in canyons with Level II and III rapids. The paddling becomes vigorous, with the river's exhilarating speed filling us with adrenaline and laughter.

Opting for the half-day excursion means starting the activity in the afternoon at 2:00 p.m. We will journey for two hours over 12 kilometers through the crystal-clear waters of the Corcovado, which reach peak levels in summer due to mountain snowmelt. The currents, intensified by southern winds, create the most thrilling rapids.

For those seeking more adventure, the full-day option begins in the morning at 9 a.m. We will traverse a total of 17 kilometers of river, pausing in calmer areas to enjoy the serene pools, be carried by the current, and perhaps leap from riverside rocks up to 5 meters high, before savoring a delightful lunch by the riverbank.

Our adventure concludes with a change of clothes and a return journey to Esquel, filled with positive energy. The service wraps up with a drop-off at your hotel.
