Tour Description
The adventure kicks off in the charming town of Esquel, where we gather and hop into our 4x4 vehicles. Our journey to Villa Futalaufquen commences, guiding us through some of the region's most stunning landscapes, including parts of the magnificent Los Alerces National Park.
Once we enter a private ranch, we make our way toward our ultimate destination: Cerro La Torta. As we ascend in our 4x4s, we follow historic cart tracks that once transported firewood from the forest. Along the way, we traverse through lenga forests, cross mountain streams, and are treated to increasingly breathtaking views of the National Park and Laguna Larga.
After approximately an hour of climbing in the vehicles, we arrive at the highest point where the forest still thrives. Here, we leave the vehicles behind and gear up for the next stage of our adventure: a trek along the Irigoyen Stream. The surrounding landscape is awe-inspiring, offering a sense of complete tranquility unique to this area.
The trek lasts around an hour, guiding us through natural scenery until we reach a breathtaking waterfall. Just beneath the waterfall, we discover the much-anticipated and astonishing ice tunnels, a true natural marvel. We will explore the tunnels, capturing unforgettable photos.
After experiencing the ice tunnels and soaking in the surrounding beauty, we begin our descent, returning to the vehicles and making our way back to Esquel.
