Our journey begins in La Rioja, traversing the western residential sector of the city. We'll visit notable landmarks such as the Padercitas, Quebrada, El Túnel, El Dique de Los Sauces, Villa Sanagasta, Salamanca caves, and the Huaco Valley. This segment of the tour offers breathtaking views as we navigate the Huaco slope, leading us through a series of charming coasts along the Sierra del Velasco: Agua Blanca, Las Peñas, and Chuquis. Here, we'll pause to explore the historic Castro Barros home and its house-museum.
Continuing our scenic tour along the coast, we will visit Pinchas, Aminga, and conclude at Anillaco. From Anillaco, we'll make our way back to La Rioja. The return route may vary depending on current conditions and road access; we have the option to travel via the mountain road or by the Lord of La Peña. This majestic solitary rock, resembling the head of Christ, stands in a vast barreal and becomes a focal point for thousands of pilgrims of all faiths who gather here annually during Holy Week to celebrate Easter.
