The City of La Rioja, established during the Spanish conquest by Juan Ramirez de Velasco, serves as the capital of the namesake province. From here, you can explore numerous parks of breathtaking beauty, such as the renowned Talampaya National Park.
While touring the city, you will discover some of its most significant landmarks, including the Minor Basilica San Nicolás de Bari, the Municipality, and various enchanting buildings. We will also explore the picturesque residential neighborhood before heading to Las Padercitas.
Las Padercitas comprises significant ruins constructed with mud in 1630, safeguarded by a substantial stone wall. This site is home to the Church where San Francisco Solano successfully halted a group of indigenous people who attempted to destroy the city.
Following our visit to Las Padercitas, we will return to your selected hotels in the city of La Rioja.
