Tour Description

Day 1

Arrival in El Calafate

City of El Calafate

Upon your arrival at the airport or bus terminal in El Calafate, you will be greeted and escorted to your centrally-located hotel.

The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at your leisure.

Day 2

Big Ice Trek on Perito Moreno Glacier*

Los Glaciares National Park

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we will pick you up for a 90-minute journey to Los Glaciares National Park.

Upon exiting the vehicle, you will witness the grandeur of the Perito Moreno Glacier, but the true adventure starts at the "Bajo de las Sombras" port. Here, we'll board a boat to cross the Brazo Rico of Lake Argentino, reaching the western shore.

We will trek through part of the forest, and our mountain guides will lead you closer to the glacier where you'll strap crampons onto your shoes to start the hike.

The trail follows the southern moraine of the Perito Moreno Glacier, leading you to an impressive viewpoint within just over an hour, where we'll step onto the ice.

Once on the glacier, you'll experience a new world: azure lagoons, deep crevasses, vast sinkholes, enchanting caves, and the unique sensation of being in the heart of the glacier.

Expert guides will accompany and instruct you throughout the three-and-a-half-hour exploration of this remarkable glacier. They'll also help you understand the ice formations and their surroundings.

Additionally, we will take a half-hour break for lunch on the pristine ice, allowing you to soak in the unparalleled landscape.

After returning to the moraine, the trek continues for another hour back to the boat. The vessel will sail close to the glacier's southern wall before returning to the port, concluding one of the most extraordinary ice walks.

The excursion includes a half-hour walk on the walkways facing the glacier.

By the late afternoon, after nearly 12 hours of this breathtaking experience, you will return to your hotel in El Calafate.

* The Big Ice excursion is available for individuals aged 18 to 50. For those under 18 or over 50, the "Minitrekking in the Glacier" is an alternative that includes 90 minutes on the glacier.

Day 3

Estancia Cristina Discovery

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to Estancia Cristina for an unforgettable experience.

Begin with a 4x4 ride through the rocky paths of the Feruglio mountain range's native forest, followed by a brief 20-minute hike to reach the exclusive viewpoint of the Upsala Glacier, where you can observe its merging glaciers, Lake Guillermo, and the Southern Patagonian Ice Field. Here, we will admire every detail and the marks of time.

Later, enjoy a traditional lunch at El Quincho and a guided tour of the Estancia Cristina Museum.

Once all activities are completed, you will be taken back to your hotel.

Day 4

Free Day in the City

On the penultimate day, you have the freedom to explore, whether discovering the charming nooks and attractions of your host city or embarking on another excursion that piques your interest.

Day 5

Farewell to El Calafate

In the morning, after breakfast, check out of your hotel and enjoy some free time until your scheduled transfer to the airport or terminal in El Calafate.
