We begin our journey departing from the central hotels of the Rock. Our route takes us approximately 63 km north along Route 43, leading us to the Villa de Antofagasta de la Sierra.
Our path takes us through the town of Antofagasta, where we will explore the Campo de las Tobas. This site is rich in local history, featuring captivating Rock Art with petroglyphs etched into the ground, depicting human figures, footprints, and various geometric designs.
Next, we proceed to the Cañón Real Grande, pausing to appreciate this enchanting location surrounded by canyons, boasting walls up to 70 meters high adorned with stunning cave paintings.
Continuing from the Cañón Real Grande, we will ascend to a viewpoint situated on the western edge of the Galán Volcano at an elevation of 4,840 meters above sea level.
Within the crater, we’ll seize the opportunity to relish a breathtaking panoramic view of the Laguna Diamante, one of the most striking lagoons in our picturesque Catamarca.
Our adventure continues with a visit to the Galán Volcano, highlighting major tourist attractions such as the geysers, Laguna Diamante, Laguna del Pabellón, Laguna Grande, and Laguna de Cabe. Here, we will immerse ourselves in nature and encounter its fascinating wildlife, including flamingos, vicuñas, foxes, and more.
