Pomez Stone Field With Carachi Pampa
Descripción del Tour
The adventure kicks off as we pick you up from your accommodation in El Peñón, a charming town nestled in the Catamarcan puna, a mere 40 km away from the Campo de Piedra Pómez. This location serves as a strategic gateway to one of Argentina's most extraordinary landscapes. Our journey unfolds in 4x4 vehicles, specifically equipped to navigate the region's challenging paths while allowing you to soak in the scenery at over 3,000 meters above sea level.
The initial stop is the Salar de la Hoyada, a vast and dazzling expanse of white terrain that seems to stretch endlessly. The White Dunes, with their fine, shimmering sands, create a unique visual contrast along our route. As we continue, we reach the La Hoyada Volcano, a site rich with geological formations that narrate the tale of ancient volcanic activities.
The tour's highlight, the Pumice Field, is situated in the northern part of Catamarca province, within Antofagasta de la Sierra. Here, you'll be awestruck by the gigantic natural sculptures shaped by wind erosion. The Sand Waves, gentle and undulating, breathe life into the desert landscape.
Our journey also takes us through the Carachi Pampa region, an intriguing area in the remarkable Catamarca puna, celebrated for its diverse landscapes and vivid colors. The Carachi Pampa Volcano, with its commanding presence and dark hues, stands solitary amid an expansive stony pampa. Surrounding the volcano, you'll find broad areas of petrified lava that contrast starkly with the white sand dunes and the reddish waters of nearby lagoons.
Concluding the excursion, the Pink Lagoon, with its tinted waters and home to graceful flamingos, offers a serene and beautiful farewell.
