Descripción del Tour
The journey kicks off at Villa Alpina, situated at an altitude of 1,340 meters, renowned as the traditional gateway to Cerro Champaquí, the tallest peak in the province of Córdoba. From this point, the trek progresses through pine forests as you make your way up the eastern face of Cerro La Mesilla.
Once you move beyond the forest and conquer the initial steep slope, the trail unfolds into mountain pastures, offering expansive vistas and the crispness of high-altitude air. After around three hours of hiking, you arrive at the López family’s Estancia "San José", where a short rest is taken before resuming the climb.
The subsequent phase is the most challenging: a winding path through granite blocks leading to the summit’s approach. At last, you stand at the peak of Cerro Champaquí, at an elevation of 2,790 meters, having conquered a total elevation gain of 1,450 meters.
At the summit, savor your lunch amidst an expansive and panoramic setting, with vistas that, on clear days, extend to the San Luis mountain ranges and the Calamuchita Valley. The return trek follows the same route back to Villa Alpina, completing an unforgettable experience for those seeking adventure and a deep connection with nature.
