Tour Description

Your adventure kicks off at Villa Alpina, situated at an altitude of 1,340 meters, the customary starting point for ascending Cerro Champaquí. Here, you step into a mountainous landscape of remarkable beauty, where the scent of pine forests and the crisp mountain air set the stage for an extraordinary day.

Ascending the eastern face of Cerro La Mesilla, standing at 2,007 meters, presents a challenge with its 180-meter elevation gain. The path meanders through the forest, eventually revealing vast highland meadows offering sweeping views and the profound silence of Achala Pampa.

After approximately three hours of trekking, we reach the San José Ranch, owned by the López family. This mountain sanctuary retains the essence of rural highland life, providing an opportunity to connect with local customs.

The journey progresses to the Socavón Ravine, a mere thirty minutes away. Here, the Socavón Waterfall awaits, cascading over 30 meters between towering granite cliffs. Enjoying lunch in this natural environment offers a perfect pause before retracing our steps back to Villa Alpina.
