Descripción del Tour
Our tour will commence around 8 am with a pickup from your accommodation in Tinogasta. We'll embark on this adventure in a 4x4 vehicle, heading towards the breathtaking Tatón Dunes.
The journey from Tinogasta to the Tatón Dunes takes us along the scenic National Route 60 for about two hours. Along the way, you'll witness remarkable sights such as India del Portezuelo, the quaint town of El Puesto, the ancient Watungasta Ruins, and expansive desert landscapes that stretch all the way to Fiambalá.
The Watungasta Ruins offer a captivating glimpse into the pre-Columbian cultures that once thrived in this region. Throughout the journey, our guide will enrich your experience with insights into the history and culture of Catamarca.
Upon reaching the Tatón Dunes, you'll have ample time to soak in the stunning landscape, capture memorable photographs from various vantage points, and for thrill-seekers, there's the opportunity to sandboard on the dunes.
Following this, we will proceed to the Indio Canyon. Here, we will embark on a medium-difficulty trek, allowing you to further appreciate the majestic Andean landscapes. The Indian Canyon, a former riverbed now dry, showcases intriguing geological formations from the Quaternary period. The wind and rain have sculpted the sedimentary rocks into a landscape of extraordinary beauty.
During the trek, you'll encounter native flora and fauna, including various species of cacti, jarillas, tolas, Andean birds, lizards, foxes, and even guanacos.
At approximately 3 pm, we'll begin our journey back to Tinogasta, arriving around 5 pm.
